Sierra Club Endorses Cal Cunningham

Statement

Today, the Sierra Club endorsed Cal Cunningham for U.S. Senate for his demonstrated commitment to protecting the environment. The Sierra Club has more than 19,000 members across the state of North Carolina.

"We know we can count on Cal to advocate for policies that will protect our environment, build a clean energy economy, and tackle climate change," said NC Sierra Club's Political Chair Alan Parry. "Cal will be a strong ally in Washington and we are proud to endorse him."

"I'm grateful to have Sierra Club's support," said Cal Cunningham. "They are leaders in the fight to protect North Carolina families and communities, and I will work with them to protect our coast, clean up our drinking water, create a clean energy economy, and combat climate change."

Cal has also been endorsed by the environmental group League of Conservation Voters. He has built a coalition of more than 140 local leaders and key policy groups like North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE), North Carolina AFL-CIO, and End Citizens United.
